May I swear? I'm going to swear under my breath!! I've searched everywhere on my older pc and this my new one and it appears I've lost my screen caps completely :-[ I watched 5.2 the other evening, through Intervideo programme and captured about12 shots, great thought I. I just can't find them and don't want to hold up everyone's comments through lack of them.
What with that wedding filming and editing today, I just can't be on the pc's much this evening ... so gracefully I'm going to bow out at the moment, I'm so sorry.
The episode in short...
To start the ball rolling, the scene opens with Archie awaking after bad dreams of the big house being blown up, birds flying away with the sound of the explosion. Then we see Archie in the cellar of the big house examining the damage with the surveyor, this isn't too bad he says... good strong walls... ouch...! He hurts his ankle!
They all arrive at Duncan's Aunt Lizzie's b&b, Duncan invites them in. Even Mollie is there and the dogs. Archie gets very annoyed to have Duncan popping his head around the door every few moments to offer them 'shampoo?' and 'conditioner?'. They finally get some time on their own to eat their fish and chips. Archie is worried about the estate. Useless ends up on the bed eating the chips!
Lexie discovers someone in the big house and... it's Paul Bowman (here I had put a gorgeous screen cap, you'll just have to imagin it ;D).
Archie wonders what the surprise is when he's taken, on his crutches, to the Ghillies Rest. He doesn't want to sing in any karaoke. He is thrilled to see his brother and hears how Paul would like to work on the estate and has some ideas. They all sit down to talk, Paul wants to live at Glenbogle. Molly is none to pleased and she downs her drink in one go.
Duncan has more b&b visitors and does his best to impress them with his cooking. Amazed to discover they are writers about cookery and may put his Aunt's b&b into their book.
Lexie discovers the silver missing...
Would someone like to carry on the story from here please...?
I don't know if I am really carrying on, Marie, but I will give my few thoughts.......
I see two main interlocking main themes: Duncan running the B&B whilst repairs are being carried out on Glenbogle and the "two naughty ladies from the magazine".
At the beginning we see Duncan trying to look after Archie and Lexie in the B&B and later the arrival of the two ladies purporting to be writing an article about local establishments! Duncan has a few problems so that Archie helps him out
We see Duncan serving them pancakes which they really enjoy and ask him for more which takes him aback but he obliges.
He then becomes engrossed in discussing their purpose for being there
Later on during the next day, Lexie enters Glenbogle which has been guarded at night by Paul (during the reconstruction) to find a large quantity of the silverware stolen from the dining room which she reports to Archie
who reports it to PC Callum - jovial as usual (he never looks if he takes things too seriously!)
In the meantime, Duncan has had a problem in the ladies' bedroom with the two dogs and in the scuffle finds a whole lot of the missing silver under their bed!
He then goes over to Kilwillie's place to see if they had anything stolen, where he finds Lexie - which Lady D hotly denighs until Badger comes in and reports some stolen items of jewelry
They all go out in hot persuit of the women who are finally captured by Callum and some reinforcements
and the two women are bundled off in the police car!
End of a hilarious story
However, I would like to include another couple of pictures of a happy Molly (how could I leave out my fav) after getting her car licence.
Hope you enjoyed my comments an apologise for not adjusting the size of some of the screencaps due to shortage of time!

I found this epi a bit sad for Duncan. With that two ladies.
Archie waking up after he had a nightmare and then Archie and Lexie looking at the damage. Very funny when Archie nocked on the wall ;D Lexie find it very funny to stay with Duncan. Even when I only see her face, I have to laugh. Then Golly with the telephone outside ;D Andrew and Molly; I think they were really cute together. Archie and Lexie with the chips. I don't know much about what's normal with food over there, but is it normal to put food in a paper? LOL, and then Archie wants to talk to Molly about Andrew ;D So funny. And then Lexie: that went well I don't know what you guys think, but I have a feeling that when Lexie finds Paul in the diningroom, he has already some love in his eyes (towards Lexie I mean). I find it a bit funny when Paul asked to stay with them, Molly drinks Andrews whisky and Andrew says: Are you alright? Molly: Of course. Andrew: That was my whisky ;D I found it sad that Paul was a suspect
I particularly loved Archie's joy at seeing his brother again, I wish we had seen more episodes of the two of them together. Yes, poor Molly - at the crossroads of her life ... and not knowing which way to turn. Golly was so touchingly pleased to help her with her driving.
About the fish and chips, I think years ago the fish and chip shops used to serve them in newspaper (probably during the war years) and nowadays at takeaway fish and chip shops, you collect your parcel of fish and chips wrapped up in plain paper then sometimes put into a brown carrier. Some say it's the best way to eat them - traditional English, no plate, knives or forks - just fingers! ;D
And in Belgium they've taken the tradition over from the English I think Or was it the other way Mostly it's served there at a take-away in a cornet. And here I saw they also started in 'Brasseries' ( pubs ?) with serving French frites in cornets.
Some years ago here there was a fih and chip shop run by a Brit and he would wrap them in paper printed like a newspaper to look like the real thing! I am sure it made no difference but it was a nice twist to make it look like the 'old days'.
I know we have hardly finished the July one but is anyone planning an August Fav episode? Perhaps the GROUSE SEASON or did we have that one last year? Any thoughts or takers
I loved watching this epi for the second time only! I loved the way the characters interacted with Golly...looking up to him for assurance...Archie ringing him every 5 minutes about the Estate, then he gave Paul assistance and guidance. He helped Molly with her driving practice and even became Duncan's pastry chef! In this epi we see Golly's continuing affection for Molly although he is willing to stand aside for Andrew (as in the Ghillies Rest). An enjoyable episode
