Early in the episode a reference was found in Katrina's mother's diary to the effect that H was Katrina's father and thought to be Hector and indeed she thought that she was Archie's sister. Yet, towards the end when the photograph was shown to Harold, he pointed out that the H was referring to him (Harold) and not to Hector - therefore implying that he was her father and not Hector.
Yet later Harold was referred to Katrina's Uncle and she his Niece. Was this a slip or have I missed a point somewhere
Paul, I think that was because she was so fond of her step-father that he was going to be her 'real' father and Harold her other father...I'm not sure but he could have taken the role of her Uncle because of this??? Maybe another Katrina addict may know why
or it could have been a slip...Katrina Xavier sounds quite exotic
There is a scene on the island in which Katrina says something to this affect: "I've already got a father, but I'm a bit short on uncles..." - so in other words, because Harold hasn't been Katrina's childhood father, he doesn't seem like a father. But he is still a fatherly figure so instead of calling him "father", Katrina agrees to call him "uncle".
Not a relationship question really but the same situation...
We have just started watching MOTG again from the beginning and another point crossed my mind in this episode which we watched last night:
It was when Archie and Katrina are driving along a lonely road and the car engine breaks down and the two sleep in the back of the vehicle: Archie says he will walk to the nearest village but Katrina says 'no' it's 10 miles away (which is why they spent the night in the back - a nice touch when they say "Good night brother" and "Good night sister" !!); next morning Archie wakes up to find a repair man and Katrina getting the engine to work again!
Question: if the spot was so isolated, how did Katrina get the repairman? Or what was the chance of the man passing that way out in the wilds? Or, I guess, it was just a bit of pure Monarch imagination like AIW...
Yes, indeed, and on Archie's 30th birthday, it appears that the beach party is 'just around the corner' from the house. Everything must have been carted down to the beach (which is in fact about 3 miles away?) and yet they were all back at the house in minutes ;D
