Hi Maddie, I enjoyed your pictures of Switzerland so very much. Sunny days, it appears. Bruce and I celebrated our 25th anniversary there (one year later in '91) and I'll tell you my two favorite spots...Grindelwald at the foot of the Jungfrau, and Silvaplana not far from St. Moritz. We stayed at the Gletschergarten hotel with a view of the high alps and went up to the spot filmed in one of the Bond movies. "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". We wanted to go up to the top on the Cograil train but it was fogged in so each day the hotel mistress would call and one day it was clear and we went up for viewing and photographs. I'll never forget Switzerland. We started with a rental car in Paris and after a week there we drove across to Switzerland. Like you we stopped in Lucerne and Geneva on the trip. It was funny because we had a car with a sun roof and I wanted to catch the first view I could so I stood up with my head out...couldn't see anything-only clouds. I wasn't driving but on the passenger side. Well, I wasn't looking high enough-when I put my head back and looked much higher there they were the tips of the mountains higher than the clouds. I'll never forget that. It looks like you had a simply wonderful vacation, Maddie!! Mary
Mary, I can imagine that you loved the views in the Alps, it's gorgeous with sunny and clear weather. We were very lucky that it was a sunny day when we went with the Bernina Express to Italy. I'll have a look for pictures of that to place here.
