Just turned on the TV and what a surprise our Ardverekie House was on the box, a series to do with the Cairgorms THE MOUNTAIN where in this first episode a couple get married in the house before going on to Aviemore for the reception, should have gone to the Gillies rest? anyway you should be able to catch it on bbc iplayer (maybe BBC Scotland iplayer) enjoy.
Thanks so much for this and the link. Hadn't heard anything about it down here, I'll try and get the rest of the series on i player. I saw the piper go in through the main door but the bride seemed to be going in through a basement door, I'll look at that bit again. Was it the one Duncan ran out of? Loved all the background info of the Cairngorm skiing, we stay just at the bottom of the mountain when we go up.
I'm pretty sure that it was. Pondered over why that would be, and concluded that if the wedding ceremony was taking place in the inner hall, where they filmed the Glenbogle and Hogmanay ball, then the bride might be going through somehow to the back stairs to go up to the first floor and so be able to make a grand entrance down the main staircase to the ceremony. Just my theory anyway!
The Mountain is a new series - so far four episodes in total. Apparently it was filmed in the winter of 2013/2014. I say that because I just binge viewed all 4 episodes tonight on iPlayer. In E3 (I think) they marked Hogmanay and welcomed in 2014. The bit on Glenbogle was nice but very short - wish there had been more. It is a fun series to learn a bit more about Aviemore, quite enjoying that as I visited there last Spring. Did not make it to the mountain nor did I get there on my more recent visit Dec/Jan cause the roads going into the Highlands were closed by the weather. Surprised they've not done anything yet on the Strathspey Railroad which is an Aviemore tourist special. Perhaps in future episodes? Great series.
