One other box set in addition to MOTG I love to watch again is Auf Wiedersehen Pet, a funny story always reminds me when I moved to Scotland over 30 years ago, I moved into a small house in Hamilton and neighbours kept calling me Barry, as I came from the West Midlands it took me a couple of weeks for the penny to drop that the popular show at the time was Auf Weidersehen Pet and Barry Taylor the Sparky had a very similar accent to myself, I tried telling everyone my name was Stephen but Barry seemed to stick for a considerable time. It has recently been having a re-run on a Sunday Night and it brings back happy memories of my time when I came to Scotland and each time Barry refers to his Midlands experiences and expressions.
Just watched re-run of Auf Weidersehen Pet on the YESTERDAY CHANNEL Sunday Night's and get as much enjoyment out of re-living the series as I did when I first watched it, probably along with MOTG the only multi series drama I enjoyed over the years, why don't they make situation TV like these two great shows anymore, with the exception of Shetland can't think of another which comes anywhere near AWP and MOTG, Jimmy Nail is a scream in these shows.
always enjoyed watching that, I remember the one episode that they had a disagreement with the landlord of the pub .so being bricky's. they did the obvious thing and bricked up his front door from the outside and give him a phone call to let him know. singing the song "wall meet again" except im pretty sure the original lyrics was "we'll meet again".
ADVICE .a wise man doesnt need it. and afool wont take it.
Funny how watching a show brings back memories of another show, watching Auf Weidersehen Pet on Sunday night on the Yesterday channel Oz and Bary went poaching with OZ tickling a couple of trout out of the stream, this reminded me of the MOTG episode when Jess was trying to prove her worth as a Ghillie by catching the poachers on the Glenbogle estate.
