It is interesting to hear how people hate the adverts in the UK, which we have had all the time in N. America on most channels the only exceptions being TVO (in Ontario) and PBS (US) TVO used to have Fund raising once a year but recently gave them up and just have a perioci mention between programmes asking for funds. PBS used to have a Fund raising once a year that would last about 10 days but then came more frequent 2 or 3 times a year but recently - particularly since the world financial crunch - when they now seem to have them every weekend - unfortunately when we had many good programmes which have been pre-empted by other 'fund raisers' - a few of which we enjoy but many of no interest and unfortunately being continually repeated and generally not worth watching again and again... however after all that, I hope they don't go bankrupt as they do have some good programmes - often from the UK!!!
But of course we don't have a TV Licence to pay for...
I think that often the Adverts are more imaginative and funny than a lot of the programs we get lately. But the ones I hate are those that go on for ages and than you still have No idea what they are about. !!!
In our house I luv the way that a conversation that we started in one 'Ad break' will smoothly continue in the next . ;D
