Because they're on opposite sides of the house, I didn't realize we had two different rhododendron bushes. ;D One is small, the other quite large -- but the photo does not show the vibrancy of the purple one, it looks really lovely this year!
******* Paul -- I just have a regular digital camera and I've found that the speed isn't is quick as I'd like it to be for distance shots, but it is excellent for taking close-ups, especially of the flowers.
Thanks Kristine for the pictures... interesting about the different colours of the plants... maybe there is some iron in or near the purple one... I know people woukd put a quantity of iron nails near the roots of rhododendrons to produce blue ones... just a thought...

Marie: The clematis is coming in very well this year -- the way our house is situated, this is one of only a few plants we can see from inside and my mother comments on its beauty every morning when she opens the shades in the family room!
