A new series of Lewis is beginning on Prime TV (New Zealand) tonight, which you would all have seen in the UK Not as good as Midsommers Murders but definitely the next best thing for Saturday night viewing. I will get a good fire going and have a glass of wine

Lesley -- It looks like there are 4 series of Lewis, they've just been very slow to make it out of the UK! I'm up to episode "Life Born of Fire," which I really enjoyed. It got a bit Midsomer Murder-y, but I enjoy that show, too.
Something else that was very slow to make it out of the UK is the news that Hathaway's (whom I do adore) Laurence Fox married Billie Piper (Doctor Who's Rose Tyler) well over a year ago! Could have knocked me over with a feather! Of course, considering I don't actually know these two people, who am I to say? After viewing a few photos and reading a few interviews to get caught up, it's really not far fetched after all (says she, still not really knowing them ;D).
We saw an episode of Lewis last night on PBS and there were three recognizable actors: The Russian cosmonaut from MOTG (sans Russian accent), the second young doctor from Born and Bred, and the plumber from Doc Martin. These British actors do get around! It now becomes a habit to look at a new series and ask, whom will we recognize in this one?
We have now seen the repeat of series 1 (2 episodes) and the first 3 episodes of series 2 - the third one being "Life Born of Fire" ... the all good but not, I think, as good as Morse... or Midsomer Murders... all on PBS - choice of 3 channels...
I thought I read on a Detective site that the newest Lewis series will be on soon. I love to see them, even more as Inspector Lynley. But Midsomer is the best
Hope you do get it soon, Maddie!
I love Lewis and Morse, but I stopped watching, after the first series or so, Inspector Lynley. I love the novels, but I'm one of those book fans who had a hard time getting past the inconsistencies after the first series. They were good, but I never kept up with them. I have seen a few, though, and I do LOVE the actress Sharon Small, and I LOVE her as Barbara Havers.
