Hi Maddie... Oh, I agree with you on that last comment! We in the U.S. haven't seen the Dec. 2012 Christmas special. I did here that Simone was going to be on it but didn't know about Ron D. who played Lexie's Dad and a very funny yoga swami in Hamish Macbeth.
I think they will show it after the last episode of Series Three. I want to order the Series Three discs but I'll wait because the one they are selling now (and advertising as the complete UK version) doesn't have it.
What is the Highlands one you speak of? I did see the Christmas special of Dec. 2011 (shown at Christmas in the U.K. but here later) Oh, and you mention Simone...You can see her in a VERY good series filmed in Connemara, Ireland not too long ago called: "Single-Handed" She has a romance with the lead, a detective. I think there are 6 discs in Single-Handed. Simone is in about half of the series. Have a Good Weekend!
Oh, and Dave, I forgot to say...you may know this-that The Waterhorse was also filmed on Loch Fyne. It is the longest inland loch (what other kind is there-ha! but its called that) in Scotland. Some scenes from that movie were filmed in New Zealand. M
Found it! Didn't take too long. It's done by the word spoiler being put inside the square brackets. Then write what you want after that and we can click to read more if we wish.
I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying it and now having The Paradise on BBC1 before it. Sunday night bliss - Countryfile, Bake-off, The Paradise and Downton, usually with a cornet or bowl of Kelly's ice cream. I know how to live!!!
Yes, I agree. I saw in my mother-in-law's paper that people are complaining about the Anna storyline and that it's spoiled the lighthearted programme it was, though I hardly call the deaths lighthearted!
The Paradise started here a few weeks ago - saw episode one but then went off ballooning in New Mexico and just home today from a follow on trip to Mississippi - so have not seen much telly at all and thus have missed episodes since. Will have to catch up via PBS online here...
Yeah ! Series four will start here this weekend ! There's an article in my telly magazine with Lady Mary and Lady Edith. I read some names who are going to leave this season, and some newbies. So no spoilers please !
Here is a good introduction from the Masterpiece theater website. The spoilers are only little teasers and not spoilers in the regular sense of the word. Pictures of the new characters...I like this first fellow very much so far!
I'm sure others feel the same 'over here'. I am so jealous that you are being able to watch Series Four now! Ah, well...its a British program and we are late recipients. Some will figure out a way to see it sooner than January...but that isn't far off the way my life has been going!!
Here is their video about Matthew leaving...you'll think there isn't anything new but Julian tells how he approached the writing after being told that Dan Stevens was leaving. Gareth Neame weighs in on that, too. It is worth watching...
Thanks for those links Mary - can't wait for January so we here can see Season 4! What is this Christmas special you all are talking about - we don't get one over here - or is it imply the final episode of the season?? The last epi here in Season 3 for example was the one when Matthew died? Was that in a Christmas special over there???
