I just watched the "Last Monarch" on my recently purchased DVD set of MOTG. WOW! What a difference from the version available here in the States (YouTube). So much more complete -- and it's made me realize how much I've missed Glenbogle!
I've been away (in a virtual sense) having followed Lexie (Dawn Steele) to Africa where I became equally engrossed in Wild at Heart. Am about to finish my second viewing. But this 'new' Last Monarch has brought me right back to Scotland and seeing Dawn again as a '20-something' kid instead of the beautiful adult she grew to be as Alice Collins-Trevanion on WaH is just so amazing.
Wish I were earning frequent flyer miles for all this traveling I'm doing back and forth from Scotland and Africa! ;D
Thanks Marie - I knew about Sea of Souls - she is also in the new series of Case Histories not yet available here in the States to my knowledge. She is in the 2nd and 3rd (last) series of SoS, apparently done after MOTG and before WaH. I did just today find that it (some if not all - am not certain yet), can be viewed online here thru YouTube and another source. Unlike WaH where she joined mid-series and replaced a previous character, there is no such linkage on SoS --- so, I've started in right where she begins, Series 2 Epi 1. (This probably belongs more appropriately on the Dawn thread?)
Interesting that she appears to be playing a young single Mum and did the same in WaH long before becoming a real life Mum with Coco. I'm not into paranormal, but with Dawn in it, I'm sure to be spending more time in front of the iPad since it can't be viewed on the tele.
That would be wonderful Gayl! Must do. Was fortunate 20 years ago to see Topol in Fiddler on the Roof in London. My last trips over were the early 90s for Malcolm Forbes' balloon event at his chateau in Balleroy, France. Spent a few days later with a friend in Bristol and another couple in Oswestry. In '92 i was over as a pilot in the Bristol Balloon Festival. I'm long overdue for a return and given my Scottish (thanks Gayl!) and Irish family roots a trip to Glenbogle and catching Dawn on stage would be over the top!
I know Dawn has done some Agatha Christie stuff on stage. What a treat that would be. Saw a TV interview she did last year when doing Volcano --- that must have been fun to see her in the role of a - her description - complete B****! Can't imagine it but know she would pull it off well.
