With all the bad news about with this virus and how now it looks as if a lot of the things we take for granted will close for the foreseeable future made me realise two things, firstly as it would seem I will have more time on my hands what a great time to get the MOTG box set out for another re-run always guaranteed to put a smile back on one’s face. Then after talking to a chap at the market today gave me a thought being that in all the episodes of MOTG I never noticed as I previously said a lot of the basic things we take for granted. Firstly did you ever see anyone watching TV or did you ever come to think of it see a TV or a Radio, a shop yes but never a supermarket, as for WI FI think Glenbogle had never heard of that , internet or social media, was there ever a bookies shop other than Molly’s phone in bets? When you think about good old Glenbogle was arguably stuck in the 80’s ?
It does make you think when these luxuries are not available or maybe closed how lucky we are, at least at Ardverkie there are miles and miles of beautiful scenery and plenty of fresh air along with a few midges to pass the time, just a few thought’s and prospective view on all the doom and gloom, as Basil Faulty once said things are never as bad as they seem. Stay safe all my Boglie friends.
These are indeed frightening times for all of us. As you say thank goodness for our modern ways of communication. I seem to remember, I think it was in series 2, that Katrina had a computer in the school and Archie had one in the office, and they were all eavesdropping on what was happening. Mollie said something like, "I don't think we should be listening in," and then, "Can you turn the volume up?" Certainly different times from today! Perhaps time to batten down the hatches and get the DVDs out. I echo your call for us Boglies to take care and stay safe, and please let us all know how you are all doing.
